Mystery over Sevco turning down Wallace bid

James and Sandy Easdale newsCrisis club Sevco have apparently turned down an offer of £900,000 for Lee Wallace from Nottingham Forest.

The news seems very similar to the £10m bid for Nikica Jelavic turned down by Craig Whyte in August 2011 although no club was ever identified as making a bid.

With fears that the new club will be unable to meet the February wage bill drastic action is required after the players rejected a conceptional discussion to reduce their wages by 15%.

Whether there is any genuine interest in Wallace remains open to debate but what seems certain is that there is virtually no interest in any other players at Ibrox with clubs unwilling to match the terms that the players are currently on.

Former Rangers midfielder Billy Davies in in charge of Forest and any move for Wallace would follow the pattern of the old club who relied heavily on former employees, and EBT benefactors such as Alex McLeish and Graeme Souness, to buy players.

Earlier this season James Beattie took Kai Naismith from Sevco but the Accrington Stanley boss has been unimpressed by the midfielder since he arrived at the Livingstone Road Stadium and is unlikely to swoop for any more wonder-kids from Murray Park.

The need to sell Wallace has been highlighted by chief executive Graham Wallace’s 120 review of the club with the benefits twofold in that an injection of cash is badly needed alongside a reduction in the wage bill.

Selling the former Hearts full-back would be a bitter blow for Ally McCoist but after adding Steven Smith, Dick Forster, Steve Simonsen and Arnold Peralta to the wage bill in the summer for no return the £825,000-a-year Ibrox boss can have little to complain about.

Former chief executive Charles Green had promised McCoist a £30m transfer warchest for this transfer window but the manager’s plea for two new strikers has gone unanswered.

All the signs are that the new club will follow the old club into administration, in January 2012 Jelavic was sold to Everton for a reported £5m fee- five months after the mysterious £10m bid was rejected.

Had Souness still been a manager somewhere, he’d have put another 0 on that bid to try and see them through the season.

As George Galloway once said “”ha ha rangers””

Fat Sally is the goose that laid the golden ‘grenade’ and its about to blow up in his fat pathetic face. The fallout will be catastrophic with ‘managerial’ goose fat, feathers and mediocre football players flying everywhere to find a club.. .ANY CLUB!

Fat Salary will be all right though as his outstanding and unquestionable managerial credentials will ensure that a host of top flight EPL clubs will be clamouring for his (self) services. . .I don’t think!
Anyway. . .happy Chinese New Year Sevco f.c. Almost two years old now and still in financial nappies!

Just remember the old Chinese saying. . .
Big fish in very small pond – soon will be dead fish in very big frying pan!
    ha, ha, ha,. . .

    £900,000 for Wallace?

    is this a joke?

    100,000 max for him!

If the Huns have 500,000,000 fans worldwide, why don’t they individually contribute £100 to their ….ahem…same club?

    Problem solved 🙂

    Joe,

You give us a great laugh, with your sevco
    pics.
This one is a favourite of mine.Sleekit looking his fattest.Beside his wee annoying
    ugly sidekick. lol

Do we believe the Daily Dumb, that Forest
    bid 900k ?
    Not a fat’s chance.

Sleekit is known to keep in touch with Davies.I smell a rat or rats with these 2.
    Remember, the MSM,especially the Daily
    Dump,inflating the price of Hutton,and
    Spurs bought it.Paying an incredible 10 M.

Anyway, it just shows how poor a team they are with 1 saleable asset.Or when
he doensn’t go ( as nobody wants him )the
media spin here, will put Sleekit in a good
light,as he told the ceo not to sell.

I smell a desperate attempt to lure out potential bidders here.

They know they need to sell to bring in much needed cash so churn out this story to flush out interested parties in the hope it will start a bidding war.

As for the Daily Dump, well they are always more than happy to help out their old friend Ally. I don’t buy that rag but would hazard a guess that this ‘Exclusive’ was brought to us by none other than Keek Jackson, the loyal Ibrox lapdog.

      Hail Hail.

      • drawkcab says:

Truth is andybhoy that this is a planned administration.

Sevco have no interest in seeing the season out.

Shorting shares is the name of the game with craig whyte pulling the strings all along.

Selling a player to delay planned administration is,
not in the interests of those shorting shares.

This is a pantomine and the magic beans have been planted in the sevco garden.

        Fee fo fi fum

        Haw haw haw.

        Hail hail

        • Andybhoy says:

          Drawkcab,

Your right selling players is not in the interests of people who are short selling shares as it is in their interests to see the share value go down as that’s how they make their profit, and anything resembling an improvement in finances would likely see the share price rise, but you have to remember there are still two factions battling it out behind the scenes at Ibrox.

While one side have been trying to drive Sevco towards administration from afar guys like Graham Wallace are desperately trying to stave it off from the inside, and it will be the latter trying to punt Lee Wallace for as high a price as possible.

The fact Stockbridge has been forced out shows that there are still those who are desperately trying to fight off administration even though it’s the most likely scenario.

          Hail Hail.

    Tick TOCK ????????????

  • bhoysrus says:

Joe. I would love him to stay at at Sevco (soon to be Tesco). As you so correctly point out, Sevco get no cash injection and they will still be paying his over inflated wages. COTH.

  • paul says:

fat sally will be crying into his cornflakes when wallace leaves hé hé

  • Timtim67 says:

Dead within weeks. Lets say the average wage at Sevco is 2k a week and they have 16 players earning that each. I reckon by April (again) they will be gone

  • john bhoy byrne says:

Tell radio Scotland that there is no longer a thing called the old firm, one half died

  • MikeyCB says:

I also thought that the Daily Ranger were trying to punt him in case anyone was interested.

A figure like that would keep them going for another month but not for much longer.

Did they not state he would be comfortable in the EPL as some no mark keeper was being constantly asked about how good he was.

it’s not Walter Smith but Walter Mitty in residence at Ibrokes.
