Dave King has stepped back from his Sevco revolution by announcing that he’ll wait to see the result of Graham Wallace’s 120 day review.
The man described by a South African judge as a glib and shameless liar arrived in Glasgow on Friday to a fanfare with some fans taking part in a blue card protest at Saturday’s match against Dunfermline.
King has promised to set up a trust fund for fans to gift their season ticket money to in a bid to starve the current board out of the blue-room but has now decided to step back to see how it all pans out.
After meeting with the directors on Friday Mr King tonight issued a statement saying: “The board has now communicated with the fans and has committed to do so in more detail within a month. Let us give the board time to comply with its commitment.
“I advised the board that I would wish to be a part of the required fund raising as a component of a united fan group investment vehicle. This will require further discussion after release of the review in the next month.”
Kings latest statement is a big step back from the promises of revolution which apparently had almost 10,000 fans pledging to withhold their season ticket money.
At the end of February he stated that: “If the board does not provide disclosure to the fans then it is time to draw a line in the sand. I propose that the fans buy the season tickets only on one of the two following bases;
1. The fans pay the season ticket money into a trust and the funds are released to the club on a “pay-as-they-play” basis.
2. The fans pay the season ticket money into a trust and the funds are released in full to the club but against security of the club property until such time as all games are played. In that way the fans will have some protection from a future event of failure if the board cannot bridge the funding gap that clearly exists.
“Additionally, the fans should insist on a board appointee prior to renewing their season tickets, to look after their interests.”
King was a non-executive of the old club under David Murray and Craig Whyte, once again it seems as if he is taking a step away to see how things pan out.
The 120 day review by Mr Wallace, who used to work for Manchester City, has overshadowed the fact that the new club has still to provide Companies House with it’s six month interim accounts to 31 December 2013. Overdue accounts of a new company are generally treated with concern by the markets.

Further, they need a figure to get them to part with cash for season tickets and King is their dream Sugar Daddy, so this is going to roll out some more misery unless serious cuts are made, & the hoards won’t like that.

end of the day as long as we qualify for the CL and keep buying quality players the huns will never get close to us and with us getting 10 in a row and pumping sevco along the way before we move into a bigger league suits me well. good times r ahead lets enjoy them and enjoy pumping sevco on a regular basis

wholeheartedly agree with you, as regards the HUNS never getting near us, but I wouldn’t count my chickens, as regards 10 in a row. The balance of power has (fortunately) changed in Scottish football. I expect a very close challenge in the near future from the likes of Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and Hibs. Look forward to it, with the HUNS battling for a place in the top six. COTH.

Iv’e said before on this site this is simply to buy them time until the season tickets are renewed. I have seen comprehensive business reviews, concluded in half the time sevco want, it is an absolute joke!! However, one wonders what the review will identify as the way forward for sevco? And where the colossal amount of money required is going to come from? For something that takes 120 days it better be good!!

Secco are still a Global Brand whether we admit it or not, but I cant understand why are we all so concerned with a new club? We are currently light years ahead in all ways but they will be going for 55 titles in 2016 but we will eventually pass them and the pain will recede ! Faith Bhoys
