Liquidation fears continue over Hearts

Leigh Griffiths newsHearts boss Gary Locke fears that the club may yet be liquidated.

Nine months after going into administration the club is staring at relegation into the Championship and are still waiting on news from Lithuania to see if their CVA will be approved.

Non-billionaire Ann Budge is lined up to head a new look board backed  by the Foundation of Hearts but Locke admits that the future is far from assured.

“As a football club Hearts are still not out of the woods yet,” the Tynecastle boss admitted. “The deal could collapse – but I pray that does not happen. The next month could be crucial in terms of the club surviving.

“If all goes to plan and things go well then we can start to rebuild the team on the playing side. The club is awaiting positive news from Lithuania but we know we have to rebuild again.

“I’m trying to look at the positive side of things. We’re hoping Ann will come in and take the club forward but at the back of my mind there is still a lingering doubt about events in Lithuania.

“The next month is critical. Hopefully it will have the positive ending that we all want. Until it is signed off, we won’t know.”

Hearts face Dundee United tomorrow night knowing that they could be relegated next weekend against Hibs if results continue to go against them.

The Easter Road club have already sold out their allocation of tickets for Tynecastle as their fans prepare for some sort of revenge on their debt funded Scottish Cup defeat in 2012.

Well if they are liquidated, I for one will hope they’re voted straight into the top league. The entertainment value concerning the Sevconians would be off the scale!

I’ve not got much sympathy for them, but let’s not forget that Heart’s cheating dims in comparison to the zombies cheating: Hearts borrowed too much money. The zombies stole it from the taxman and from the people they owed money. Hearts were stupid. The zombies were criminal.
