Liam Henderson newsCeltic edged closer to the u-20 title after beating Falkirk 2-0 at Cappielow tonight thanks to goals from Connor McManus and Liam Henderson.

While Celtic were returning to winning ways leaders Hibs drew 3-3 away to Dunfermline with their lead cut down to two points with Celtic having two games in hand.

Hibs play their final match next week at home to Kilmanock but seem to have lost some of their momentum with back-to-back draws after winning 2-0 against Celtic earlier this month.

Celtic’s remaining matches are away to St Mirren and Dundee United either side of a home match with Sevco.

The Ibrox side are a point behind Celtic with a game in hand- away to Hearts on Friday- which means that the Lennoxtown clash between the two Glasgow clubs could become a title decider.

Celtic finish their campaign away to Dundee United on May 8 with Sevco due to play Falkirk the following day.

After losing to Hearts and Hibs tonight’s clash with Falkirk was critical to Celtic’s title hopes with the young hoops responding with first half goals from McManus and Henderson.

Filip Twardzik returned to the side after a short absence  but it was McManus that opened the scoring midway through the first half with a shot that was deflected into the Falkirk net.

Shortly afterwards Henderson doubled the lead when he collected the rebound of a Denny Johnstone shot.

Over the last few weeks none of the title contenders have been able to put together a winning run but with the finishing line in sight both Sevco and Celtic know that a winning run will deliver the championship.

On Friday Sevco play their game in hand away to Hearts with the Edinburgh side expected to field a very young team with their first team playing Hibs 48 hours later.
