Scott Brown trophyIf you want to throw a title party there is no better place to stage it than at Celtic Park.

Sunday 11 May 2014 was another unforgettable day in Paradise as the club hosted and celebrated winning the SPFL Premiership with a memorable display of unity between players and supporters celebrating on field success while remembering the bravery of wee Oscar Knox.

Television viewers were also treated to some humour as Sky Sports attempted to interview Scott Brown with a greetin’ child on each arm while Kris Commons youngest son discovered his nose while dad was being interviewed.

On the park the bhoys sparked into action after a tame first half led by a header from Anthony Stokes that ensured that the party wasn’t going to fall flat.

For the 21st time this season the striker found the net with Georgios Samaras doubling the lead from the penalty spot before Filip Twardzik was unfortunate enough to deflect the ball past Fraser Forster into his own net.

Never one to be upstaged Commons restored Celtic’s two goal advantage with a low shot that oozed of the confidence associated with a 32 goal midfielder.

The last ten minutes of the match saw the 54,000 fans celebrate in style as some favoured anthems were chanted to celebrate the teams success with some thoughts cast back to the darker days twenty years ago when the clubs’ very existence was under threat.

As one fan tweeted later ‘Thanks Fergus for paying our bills’ with the man from Croy scheduled to return in August to unfurl the league flag.
