blond wigBig mouthed Legia Warsaw chief Dariusz Mioduski has given up on his laughable #letfootballwin campaign.

Earlier today the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland rejected Legia’s appeal to replace Celtic in the Champions League meaning that Legia will head for Kazakhstan for a Europa League qualifier.

After 10 days of bluster and cringeworthy PR stunts Mioduski has finally admitted that he was wrong all along over his attempt to shame Celtic out of a play-off against Maribor.

“We expected this decision,” the curly haired blonde told Sky Sports. “We just felt we needed to file for provisional measures because this was our last chance to get reinstated.

“But the fact is, knowing that both UEFA and Celtic would be filing documents and arguing against us, we didn’t expect the courts would make a different decision at this point.

“We know we will be playing in the Europa League. We accept that, but we will not give up on our pursuit on what we believe is justice for football.”

The statement from CAS said: “The President of the CAS Appeals Arbitration Division considered the parties’ written submissions and has denied Legia Warszawa’s request. Accordingly, Celtic FC remains qualified to participate in the UEFA Champion’s League 2014/2015 and will play its next match against NK Maribor on 20 August 2014.

“The CAS arbitration will now continue and a Panel of arbitrators will be constituted to examine this case within the next weeks. On the merits, Legia has requested that no sanctions be imposed on either the club or the player Bereszynski and that UEFA be ordered to pay a financial compensation to the Polish club.”

Mioduski will now turn his attention to getting UEFA to change their rules adding: “The main thing for us is making sure the rule is changed and that UEFA actually considers that.

“I don’t see it as us fighting against UEFA at this point. I see it as working more with UEFA to make sure a situation like this will never happen again.”

Once he has finished putting the world to right Mioduski may want to look at his own employees understanding of the rule book before asking Henning Berg why he decided to bring on a defender Bartosz Bereszynski for the last four minutes of a tie in which his side were 6-1 up.
