John Guidetti John Guidetti is happy to take Craig Thomson’s decision on Celtic’s first goal at St Mirren.

The on-loan Manchester City was certainly involved in the goal that put Celtic in front in the 42nd minute as he raced to the near post to meet a cross from Scott Brown.

As Guidetti prepared to shoot Jim Goodwin came crashing in from behind with the ball bobbling past Marian Kello with Goodwin and Guidetti on the deck.

“The referee came to me before the second half and told me has given me the goal,” the striker explained. “And you know what they say- don’t argue with the referee so I didn’t argue!

“I was about to tap it in and then I got smashed for third time by number six. I didn’t know what planet I was in for a moment and I thought the ref would show a red card then I saw the ball in the back of the net.

“The referee is giving me the goal. I will take anything I can.”

St Mirren equalised early in the second half through Kenny McLean but Guidetti sealed the win in the 63rd minute with a fine strike from an Anthony Stokes pass that no one could dispute.

Despite the win Ronny Deila wasn’t happy with his side’s display and wasn’t prepared to use playing three games in seven days as an excuse.

“I feel a little bit irritated that we didn’t play well offensively and have more chances,” the hoops boss said. “It was not the best performance we ever had. It was a tough game and we looked a little bit tired.

“We were too slow on the ball and we didn’t create as many chances as we needed but I know it is tough to play three games in a week and win. Some days football is just hard work. It was a positive thing that we came back after 1-1 to win the game and didn’t’ give them many chances.”

The win leaves Celtic in fourth place, five points behind Dundee United, with a game in hand over Jackie McNamara’s side.
