Karaoke McCoistEver popular Ally McCoist wants chief executive Graham Wallace, who used to work for Manchester City, to stay on at Sevco.

Discussing non-football matters at his pre-match media conference this week, the Sevco boss backed his chief executive despite a motion calling for his removal at an EGM called for by multi-billionaire Micky Ashley.

McCoist enjoys a close working relationship with Mr Wallace- as he did with Mr Whyte, Mr Green and Mr Mather previously- and wants to see peace declared in the battle of the blue room with Dave King and Mr Ashley working alongside Mr Wallace.

“It absolutely concerns me because it would create instability within the board,” the former Question of Sport skipper admitted when asked about Mr Wallace’s position.

“It is not something I can have a major influence on but from my seat here as a manager I am delighted to be working with Graham. I firmly believe that he absolutely wants the club to move forward. He’s got a vision, which a lot of it we both share.”

Looking at the numerous investment options for the cash strapped club McCoist added: “In an ideal world the more investment the better. As a supporter and manager, I would actively encourage all parties if they can to get together.

“One source of investment would be fantastic but if we can get two, three, four – as much investment as humanly possible – that would be better for the club.

“Does the club need to get this sorted out once and for all? Yes, without doubt. It is in everybody’s best interests that we can get a clean slate and everyone can move on.”

McCoist’s plea is likely to fall on deaf ears just like a call in April 2013 for Ibrox to be cleansed.

Following the launch of an internal inquiry into the links between Mr Green and Mr Whyte McCoist said: “What the club actually needs is to be totally cleansed. We need to give ourselves an opportunity to move on.

“We need everything out in the open and hopefully this internal investigation will do that. We need to let everyone see what has been going and where this club are hopefully heading. We haven’t had the chance to do that.

“I’m not despondent, though. Sometimes you wonder where the next hit is coming from but we do need to move on.

“And the biggest thing we need to come out of the stability is that in every press conference I’m sat here talking about the football. About teams, players, bad results and good results. That for me would be stability.”

On the pitch Sevco face Raith Rovers hoping to prevent Hearts extending their nine point lead at the top of the SPFL Championship.
