Mike AshleyAlly McCoist is feeling the heat at Ibrox after the club board refused to sanction a postponement of next Saturday’s clash with Alloa.

With the club’s dire financial situation coming to light the new regime led by Deek Llambias have decided that pounds shillings and pence are more important than the loss of three players on international duty.

Games at East Fife and Cowdenbeath were postponed earlier this season to accommodate international needs but this time around it’s the boardroom and not the dug out calling the shots.

“We’ve called off previous fixtures but the board has decided they’d like the game to go ahead which I absolutely respect,” the Sevco boss revealed. “I’m totally fine with that.

“I’ve said before we would like to show a level of consistency but I have always said the overriding factor would be the welfare of our team and the club.

“I do respect that and the board have made a decision that they would like to play the game. As manager, I understand that and look forward to that game after this one.

“I think my opinion would have been taken into account but it’s far too big a decision to be just a football one. There are a lot of factors to take into account, such as financial ones and the fact people are travelling to the game. We’ll have enough players away to call the game off but the decision has been made and we’re fine with it.”

Having previously enjoyed a close working relationship with Mr Whyte, Mr Green, Mr Mather and Mr Wallace it’s unclear whether McCoist has had a cup of team with Mr Llambias to discuss his January warchest.

Sevco have still to publish their audited accounts for the year to 30 June 2014 meaning that the earliest that an AGM can be held is December.
