Europa LeagueRonny Deila has admitted that Celtic won’t be quite as gung-ho in the San Siro as they were at home to Inter Milan.

The Celtic boss didn’t alter his side’s formation from the attack minded 4-2-3-1 for the first leg but will apply a more cautious approach tomorrow night.

Celtic must score against Inter but rather than take the game to Roberto Mancini’s side the hoops are likely to apply a more measured approach.

“It is more important, away in Europe against very good opponents to think more of your opponent,” the Celtic boss revealed. “At home we have to be ourselves and attack.

“Away you have to defend better, especially against good teams.”

Critical to Celtic’s hopes of progress will be the performances of Scott Brown and Nir Bitton.

The midfield duo were in top form during the first leg and are likely to be given additional support in the San Siro.

Brown is the veteran of a number of European campaigns and is optimistic about how the hoops will fare against Inter.

“We have got to go over there and think we can do it, especially when you look at the chances we created against them,” the Celtic boss said.

“You always have a chance when you have the likes of Leigh Griffiths and John Guidetti.

“John scored a great goal – it was an unbelievable finish – but wee Griff worked his socks off to soften up the Inter defence for him. He created chances for others as well. We’ll do the same in Milan.”
