DeilaRonny Deila has warned his Celtic squad that their domestic performances won’t be good enough to beat Inter Milan.

The hoops have won every match this year- losing just one goal- but are in for a totally different challenge on Thursday night.

Despite being locked in the middle of Serie A Inter will be a massive step up in class for Celtic to deal with as the hoops managed admitted.

He told Celtic TV: “We have to play as a team, at St Johnstone we were very good for 25 minutes, very good and compact on the ball but the last 20 minutes of the first half we were open and lost the ball too much. That can be tiring.

To beat Inter Milan we’ll need to be better and show good concentration.”

Assessing the impact Deila has had on the Celtic squad his assistant John Collins said: “It looks like the manager is getting his ideas across to his players. So we’ll be tested, that’s for sure but we’re in a good place at this moment in time.

“Our players are doing their job all over the pitch working as one unit and looking sharp. We haven’t been conceding while at the same time we’ve been creating lots of chances and scoring goals. As a coach that’s what you want from your team.

“Was it always going to take time for that to happen? When you come in you want it to happen as quickly as possible but you have to be realistic. The most important thing is that we’ve seen gradual progress.

“We were disappointed with the early European results but this is a chance for the players to show that we have made progress.”
