DeilaRonny Deila believes that he has transformed Celtic over the last six months.

The Norwegian endured a troubled introduction to Scottish football as Celtic missed out on reaching the group stage of the Champions League and lost league matches to Hamilton Accies and Inverness Caley Thistle.

Since the new year Celtic have a 100% domestic record- conceding just one goal- as they edge towards two trophies and set the pace in the SPFL.

Thursday night’s draw with Inter Milan was viewed as solid signs of progress by the Celtic support with only two uncharacteristic errors by Craig Gordon denying the club a famous win.

New bhoys Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong have taken the move from Dundee United in their stride as Deila makes his mark on the team.

“If we had met them six months ago, we wouldn’t have had a chance so I think we are going the right way,” the Celtic boss said looking back at the draw with Inter Milan.

“It was a good performance and good to come back from two down. And we had a very young team.

“Football is about entertaining and pleasing people and it seems people were happy with the way we approached the game and that we fought to the end and got a result.”

Aberdeen’s win over St Mirren today put them on the same points mark as Celtic with the hoops boss knowing that winning the league flag is his side’s priority

“In my mind, this Sunday is more important than Thursday night because we know what is in the pot if we win,” Deila added.

“It is about culture, that is what we work on every day and when you have a clear style sometimes it is easier to go into matches when you are tired. You rely on your pattern, where everyone knows what’s happening.

“That is what we want to build up here and that is going to be hard to cope with for any team who comes to Celtic Park.”
