Bomber Brown's palsThe war at Ibrox took another turn last night when the official board of directors decided to sack the Rangers Fans Board (RFB).

Former chief executive Graham Wallace, who used to work for Manchester City, set up the RFB to tick the fan engagement box with the intention that the RFB would decide the colour of straws in the catering outlets and the temperature of the pies.

The RFB is independent to the Rangers Supporters Association, the Rangers Assembly, the Rangers Trust, Rangers First, the Blue Order, the Sons of Struth, Vanguard Bears and the Union of Fans.

The recent turmoil at the club, with the daily stream of revelations in favour of Sports Direct, caused alarm bells to ring with some difficult questions posed to directors attending the RFB meetings.

The decision to minute comments made by Barry Leach that the three rebel bears would s**t themselves if their loan offer was accepted proved to be the final straw with Deek Llambias deciding to close down the RFB.

Last night a statement on the RFB Facebook page announced: “The RFB were contacted today by email from Mr Llambias to say that he was disbanding the current Rangers Fans Board and would revisit it after the EGM.

“The RFB have noted this and whilst awaiting developments will at this time continue to work together with the fans for the betterment of our great Club.

“Can we remind all shareholding supporters to follow the Proxy Bear way and get your votes in by proxy now. Every vote counts. It’s imperative that the EGM goes ahead smoothly and delivers a result.

“The RFB would like to thank all supporters for their words of support and encouragement. We will follow on.”

While the PR spin suggests that Dave King is on target to win the EGM little is being made of what is likely to happen next.

Before the EGM a further £5m loan is likely to be required from Mike Ashley for the February payroll leaving Mr King, described as a glib and shameless liar by a South African judge, to write a cheque to Mr Ashley for £10m.

With virtually nothing coming into the club from commercial and retail sources Mr King will only have ticket money to work with, assuming that Sports Direct don’t have a cut on that.

Hopes of a fresh share issue will be thwarted by the Mr Ashley and Easdale shareholding block leaving Mr King with the option to sell season tickets in March for an unknown division of football or to put the holding company that runs the football club into administration to avoid paying creditors.
