6. Scott BrownScott Brown lapped up the abuse of Aberdeen fans and even tried to enjoy a pie thrown his way after downing the Dons!

The Celtic skipper turned in a storming performance as the hoops won 1-0 at Aberdeen scoring the only goal of the game with a strike that every aspiring midfielder should study.

Winning a crunching tackle against Barry Robson twenty yards from his own goal wasn’t enough for the all action midfielder.

Storming towards the halfway line he started a counter attack and by the time Stuart Armstrong had turned Shay Logan inside out Brown was charging into the six yard box to put the ball into the net.

Someone threw me a pie, I did try and eat it but it fell out my hands,” he laughed about the reaction to his goal scoring celebrations. “The gaffer wouldn’t like it because there are carbs in it.

“A 50 pence? I would have picked that up, that would have got me another pie in Fife.

“It is banter isn’t it? For 90 minutes they can give me as much as they want and I can give as much as I want but as soon as we come off the field it is all forgotten about.”

Having quickly formed a close bond with his captain Ronny Deila was delighted to see Brown lead by example.

“You know what you get from Broony every time,” the Celtic boss said. “He is a class player, you just love to have him in your team.

“I understand people outside the team not liking him so much because he is so good.

“He sets the standard every time. He is a big influence in this team, he has been absolutely brilliant this season.

“He loves winning and is so good with his team-mates. We need strong characters to play at this club and he is one of them.”
