Brown trophyCeltic swept Dundee aside to move a within touching distance of SPFL Premiership title.

A 5-0 win over Paul Hartley’s side means leaves the hoops 11 points of Aberdeen who have four games left to play with the top two clashing next Sunday at Pittodrie.

Celtic could be champions by tea-time tomorrow if Aberdeen fail to pick up full points away to Dundee United.

Two goals within 10 minutes late in the first half put Celtic on course for another three points with Leigh Griffiths heading the hoops in front on the half hour mark from a perfectly flighted cross by Emilio Izaguirre.

Seven minutes later a great flowing move through the Dundee defence ended with Kris Commons playing in Scott Brown who took one touch before sending the ball low past Scott Bain.

Celtic could have been further ahead before the interval when Kevin Thomson twice fouled Stefan Johansen in the penalty box but referee Bobby Madden awarded a corner.

Dundee barely posed any threat to the hoops title charge with the fans celebrating the imminent clinching of the title throughout the second half.

Efe Ambrose and Stefan Johansen were replaced on the hour mark by Darnell Fisher and James Forrest as Deila rotated his squad to give two of the younger players a run on a night of celebration.

Fisher was quickly involved winning a penalty in the 70th minute with Commons slamming the ball home as the fans anticipated ten-in-a-row.

Griffiths took a well deserved bow as he was replaced by Stefan Scepovic in the 74th minute with Forrest striking the fourth goal two minutes later from a pass by Commons.

In the final minute Nir Bitton scored the best goal of the night with a stunning 30 yarder than Bain never got close to.
