LUCASZ ZALUSKA 2Lucasz Zaluska has left Celtic.

The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the month and hasn’t been offered a new deal.

Celtic signed Zaluska from Dundee United on a Bosman deal in 2009 with the keeper enjoying occasional first team outings under Tony Mowbray, Neil Lennon and Ronny Deila after signing for Gordon Strachan.

In six seasons Zaluska made 51 appearance with his final match the 0-0 draw at St Johnstone last month.

His greatest moments came in the 2010/11 season when he replaced Kris Commons at Ibrox in a Scottish Cup tie after Fraser Forster was sent off against Rangers (IL).

After picking the ball out of the net with his first touch the Pole settled in quickly as the 10 men put in an outstanding performance to secure a replay courtesy of a famous strike from Scott Brown.

The Ibrox side lost the plot in the replay with three players sent off as Mark Wilson scored the only goal of the game after exchanging passes with Sasa Papac.

With Craig Gordon enjoying an extended break due to his international commitments Leo Fasan will be the most experienced keeper in Deila’s squad when the hoops report back for pre-season training next week.

Fasan has still to make a competitive appearance for Celtic but was involved with the first team squad on natch-day’s last season and will feature in the three pre-season matches arranged for St Mirren Park starting with the game against Den Bosch on July 1.

Deila will be keen to bring in an experienced back-up for the start of the Champions League campaign in mid July.

Finding a keeper of sufficient quality who is prepared to be back up to Gordon is likely to be a tough task with the search already under way.
