Dave King Shameless Dave King has pleaded with Sevco fans to buy season-tickets.

Three months after his glorious revolution the club has no auditor, no nominated adviser, no chief executive, no chief scout, no financial director, no share listing, no manager and have just released 11 players including inspirational leader Lee McCulloch.

The South African based businessman has yet to invest a single penny directly into the club but in a manner that might make Bob Geldof blush has begged supporters to hand over their hard earned cash.

Mr King, who was described as a glib and shameless liar suggested that a new manager could be in place next week- just days after Paul Murray told a 600 strong gathering of fans in California that the new manager would be named on Friday.

Speaking to the club website the man that served as a director under Dave Murray and Craig Whyte at the old club said: “Ultimately the success of Rangers over all of the years has been the support of the fans.

“It’s the fact that the fans have consistently bought the season tickets and consistently supported the club with the commercial and retail revenue that has made Rangers consistently the number one club in Scotland.

“Unless we get back to getting the fans back on board and getting full support from the fans for their club then these short-term investments are not going to make Rangers long-term sustainable. Only the fans and the support of the fans can do that for us.”

Asked about how much season tickets he expected to sell he replied: “I hope to sell out season tickets bringing in £12m-£13m.”

Despite the regime change in March and Mr King’s expectation of full houses through to the end of the season no more than 41,000 fans turned up for any match until the price was reduced to £5 for the play-off caning from Motherwell.

It will take more than 15,000 season ticket sales to pay off Mike Ashley’s £5m loan reducing the likely warchest available for whoever takes over from Stuart McCall.

With the company fundamentals revealing expenditure of over £30m and income trapped at under £20m the company required £9.5m of loans and a £3m share issue in October to complete the season.

That unsustainable model will be continued for three years with no detail given on the level of ‘investment’ from Mr King and his business partners.

Demonstrating his acute lack of knowledge about Scottish football the non billionaire from Castlemilk asked ‘Who is Mark Wotte?’ when he was questioned about a role for the former SFA Performance Director!
