Leigh Griffiths took his disappointment over the penalty controversy against Stjarnan onto his twitter account.

The former Hibs striker replaced James Forrest with Celtic leading 2-0 when the hoops were awarded a penalty kick when Stefan Johansen was pulled down in the penalty box.

Johansen made it clear that he wanted to take the penalty but after a very obvious argument with Griffiths it was the striker that took, and missed, from 12 yards out.

At Hampden in the League Cup Final in March John Guidetti and Forrest had a similar public argument which resulted in Forrest seeing his penalty saved.

Ronny Deila made his displeasure about Johansen clear after the match with Griffiths retweeting his managers’ comments.

Griffiths added:

Expressing his anger Deila said: “It should be very clear, it is Leigh Griffiths that takes the penalties. So that something we have to get out of the way. We can’t have it like this.

“That is hopefully the last time that we see that because it is nothing about being professional and being a team, because we shouldn’t fight about a penalty.

“It is very clear who is going to take the penalty and that is the way it is going to be in the future.

“The taker gets extra pressure and everyone knows that when you have a penalty, the longer you wait, the chances to miss get bigger.

“I don’t know (why Stefan did it), I haven’t ask him but 3-0 is a much different result than 2-0.”
