Four months after leaving Hibs it looks like Scott Allan is about to get his Celtic career underway.

Cameo roles in Celtic’s last two matches have backed up the reports coming out of training and two impressive displays in the Development League.

Against Ajax with virtually his first touch he sent Leigh Griffiths through one on one with the goalkeeper. Three days later at Inverness his pass to Kieran Tierney set up Celtic’s second goal for Griffiths.

During the summer Allan rejected a not so subtle campaign to take him to Ibrox, after suffering an injury early in his Celtic career he’s ready to kick on and make his mark at the highest level.

I have said it before, with the stature of the club and the chance to step up a level, it was an easy decision for me,” he stated. “These European games are a bonus if you get to feature.

I was disappointed at the end of the Ajax game with the second goal, but it is a learning curve for me. I just need to take positives from it.”

Looking to next week’s Europa League trip to Fenerbahce he added: “There will be a great atmosphere. It is our job to go over there and play and we will just get on with it.

It’s European football and these are the games you want to go and play in. Obviously there are lots of circumstances going on just now, but we just need to apply ourselves and do our job over there.”

    Joe,
I think Scott Allan will be a great signing for us and will displace Chris Commons as the link man playing behind the striker(s). Some of his passes, like the Ajax one you mentioned, show a great ‘eye for a pass’! I’m looking forward to Scott getting an extended run in the team. HH
