With 22 goals so far this season it’s no surprise that Leigh Griffiths has been named as Ronny Deila’s dream striker.

The former Hibs striker notched a last gasp winner against Partick Thistle last week and grabbed a double in the Scottish Cup win over Stranraer.

After a month long lay off Griffiths looks to be back in top form as Celtic chase silverware in three different competitions.

He is my dream striker,” the Celtic boss said after booking a place in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup. “He is important for us, he scores goals and works really hard for the team so I am very happy to have him back.

“I think Carlton did okay. He played well together with Leigh. They scored three between them, so I can’t be very irritated by that.

“You can see Carlton is experienced and he knows how to score and be a striker.”

Cole looked a different player lined up alongside Griffiths and was quick to acknowledge the benefits of his strike partner.

“Griff played brilliant and it’s great to be alongside a striker who just thinks about goals,” the former West Ham striker said. “Griff has been amazing. He’s got 21 or 22 goals already – I’d love to have that kind of return. He’s a top goalscorer and a great asset for the club.”

Celtic are back in action on Friday night away to Dundee United with three re-arranged fixtures against Hamilton, Dundee and Aberdeen coming up in consecutive midweeks.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Good to see RD start with two up front today, thought the bhoys handled it really well. The treble is still on and so is 10 in a row.
Joe keep up the great work and keep us all laughing at Sevco and all the court cases coming up.
