Ronny Deila will focus on experience as he attempts to strengthen his Celtic squad during the transfer window.
The hoops boss has still to make his first move into the market with any activity likely to take place in the final days of the month.
Last year Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong moved from Dundee United straight into the first team squad.
With Scott Brown and Charlie Mulgrew currently out injured the age profile of the Celtic side is in the early twenties with Deila keen to bring in tried and tested players to make an instant impact.
“We want players who have played games before and who can come in and do something now,” the Celtic boss explained. “That is the important thing.
“We have a lot of talent and we need someone who can lift the whole squad.”
Norwegian teenager Kristoffer Ajer has returned to Start after a week on trial at Celtic with Deila likely to move for the midfielder in the summer.
“He is not a player who would immediately be a big part of the Celtic first team,” the former Rosenborg manager added. “It can be also that he stays in Norway for half the season, also to finish school.
“We have to see the whole package. He would be a project. He is a ‘98 kid, so he’s very young.”
Summer signing Ryan Christie has stepped up his training and could make his Celtic debut within a month after picking up a knee injury on loan to Inverness Caley Thistle.
