Charles Green hospitalCharles Green, Paul Clark and Dave Whitehouse are expected to face new charges in the Ibrox fraud case.

In mid afternoon yesterday it was announced that some charges would be dropped against the Duff & Phelps duo but later on it was announced that fresh charges are in the pipeline.

A Crown Office spokesman said: “It is not the case that charges have been dropped.

“The charges against Paul Clark and David Whitehouse in the current indictment were dismissed.

“The Crown will proceed to raise a fresh indictment against Paul Clark, David Whitehouse and Charles Green in due course and within the statutory time limits.”

Administrators Clark and Whitehouse remain at the centre of the case due to their links to Green and Craig Whyte.

In February 2012 former billionaire Whyte managed to get Duff & Phelps appointed as administrators ahead of an appointment made by HMRC.

Four months later with the club about to enter liquidation Duff & Phelps sold IbrocStadium and Murray Park to Green for a knock-down price of £5.5m which was less than the cost of their own expenses.

Various information has entered the public domain through social media with Mr Green confirming that Mr Whyte made a payment to the mother of former Sevco chief executive Imran Ahmad.

The on-going case is looking to establish the links between all of those charged with Mr Whyte believed to have the majority of his conversations recorded.

Some of those conversations surfaced through the Charlotte Fakes twitter account with most football fans wanting to find out the content of the meeting Mr Whyte had with Campbell Ogilvie and Stewart Regan at One Devonshire Gardens in Glasgow in December 2011 where it’s understood that the options for administration and liquidation were discussed.
