Scott Allan is determined to get more game time for Celtic.

The midfielder has started just one match, away to Fenerbahce in the Europa League, since signing from Hibs during the summer transfer window.

Allan made a big impact coming off the bench against Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday and is eager to force his way into Ronny Deila’s starting plans.

I don’t want to be here and just make appearances off the bench,” he told Celtic TV. “I want to get on from the start and I’m working hard to do that.

It’s good to get on and obviously the more minutes that you get the more of a chance you get to make an impression.”

Referring to fellow substitutes Ryan Christie and Patrick Roberts he added: “We are all positive players, on the same wavelength and that makes it a bit easier. When you have three attacking players getting into good positions it makes it hard for teams to defend against.”

Deila watched last week’s Development League match against Dunfermline where Allan, Christie and Roberts excelled.

The win over Inverness Caley Thistle put Celtic six points ahead of Aberdeen with the top two clubs now separated by six points.

On Friday night Celtic travel to Hamilton looking to put further pressure on Derek McInnes’ side who take on St Johnstone at Pittodrie the following day.

Following the trip to Hamilton Celtic host Dundee on March 2 with Aberdeen going to Dundee United on the same night.
