LADBROKES SPFLKilmarnock striker Josh Magennis has made a police complaint, alleging he was racially abused during his side’s 1-0 defeat against Hearts at Tynecastle.

According to a report on BBC Scotland both clubs are aware of the complaint with the SPFL match delegate also informed about the incident at the Wheatfield Stand.

Hearts have had a long term anti-social problem among fans with Ann Budge prepared to tackle the issues rather than hide behind deflection statements.

In one of the worst incidents ever seen in Scottish football Neil Lennon was assaulted by a Hearts fan during a visit to Tynecastle in 2011.

As John Wilson was belatedly led away by police he was cheered by thousands of home fans with Wilson still celebrated to this day whenever Celtic visit Tynecastle.

After fighting occurred during a recent home match with Motherwell Budge said: “I cannot begin to tell you how angry this makes me, when we are working so hard to put the club back at the heart of the community.

Instead of talking proudly about the team’s superb performance, or indeed our supporters’ unprecedented loyalty, I am instead having to hold meetings with the authorities regarding how we are going to address this behaviour problem.

Allowing a tiny minority of supporters to bring the club’s reputation into disrepute is something we will not tolerate.

We will be clamping down on supporters who behave unacceptably. This will mean more stringent checks and more surveillance both inside and outside the stadium.”

It’s unlikely that the SPFL will take any action against Hearts.
