Neil LennonNeil Lennon is lining up a move to take Scott McDonald to Hibs.

The Australian striker has turned down an offer to stay on at Motherwell alerting Lennon who is looking to take the Easter Road side back to the top flight after three seasons in The Championship.

McDonald was the top scorer at Celtic during his three seasons at the club with Lennon working as first team coach for Gordon Strachan.

Since lifting the Scottish Cup last month Hibs have lost Anthony Stokes to Rotherham while Jason Cummings has been linked to a number of clubs as he enters the final season of his contract.

Another former Celt, James Keatings is already at Easter Road and looking forward to Hibs developing a tougher edge under his former Celtic Development side boss.

He has seen Hibs and he is going to come in and want to change that mentality,” said cup final super sub Keats.

He is a winner and he will demand that we win every game. That is the way he is. In training he wants us at 100 per cent and the same in games.’

This is a massive club and he wants to come in and make it even bigger and get his point across. He will want to make it a tougher and stronger bunch rather than a weak bunch.

I know what the manager is like from being a young boy at Celtic. He is demanding and he won’t accept us being beaten or even drawing. I know for a fact he will have the boys on their toes.

Neil obviously has the fear factor. When he walks in you can feel it. He has that about him where you are taken back a wee bit by it. I was a young boy at Celtic when he was there and when he walked into the changing room he could silence the room. He has got that about him.”

McDonald scored 14 times for Motherwell last season.
