Leigh Griffiths can’t wait to get started under Brendan Rodgers.

After being signed by Neil Lennon the striker burst into life under Ronny Deila becoming the driving force in two title wins.

When Rodgers was introduced to the Celtic support Griffiths provided the warm up act and is counting down the days before he gets on the training ground with his new gaffer.

Once we get our fitness levels back up it will all be about getting used to the new style of play under Brendan Rodgers and how he wants us to go about things,” the striker said.

It’s going to be interesting to see what that will be like. The new manager will have his own regime, how he wants to go about things, and everybody will have to take that on board pretty quickly.

But we’ve not sat down at length to discuss what his plans will be. When we do that it will be interesting to see what’s going to happen.

We’ll be going on a pre-season tour and when we come back we have the European ties and the two big friendlies to look forward to.

The friendlies against Leicester and Barcelona will certainly get the fitness up. Bringing Leicester here, champions v champions, can only benefit us.

Then we go to Dublin to play Barcelona and that’s not going to be an easy task. However, we have proved on the big occasions that we’re more than a match for them. It will be a difficult game and one that certainly excites the supporters.”
