Calum WatersCalum Waters has signed for Alloa Athletic.

The left-back spent last season on loan at Dumbarton, after being released by Celtic he was snapped up by Ross Jack as the Wasps attempt to bounce back from last season’s relegation.

Speaking to the Alloa website Jack said: “Calum is a wee bit different from some of the others players I have brought to the club, in that other players have had experience and proven at this level.

Calum is different in the fact he is a young player coming from a top club in Celtic, he did have experience of the Championship last year with Dumbarton, this season he will be looking to establish himself over the course of the season.

So it is an opportunity for him to nail down a regular first team position and be a regular in the team. I am looking forward to working with Calum who I was familar with during my time with Hearts.

I have always kept an eye on how he has been doing and I’m sure he fill fit with other characters we have at the club.

It is a great opportunity for him and I know he listened to what Michael Duffy and Connor McManus had said how much they enjoyed their time with Alloa Athletic and I’m sure he will do equally well for Alloa Athletic”.

Waters featured in a few pre-season fitxures but failed to make a competitive appearance during his time at Celtic despite being a regular for two seasons in the Development League.
