Greedy Walsall have priced Tom Bradshaw out of a dream move to Sevco.

The Welsh striker scored 20 goals in 50 appearances for the Midlands giants last season to catch the attention of Mark Warburton.

Star spotter Frank McParland was already on the job having watched Walsall on a number of occasions after discovering and developing Raheem Sterling from a raw teenager into a £50m internationalist.

Warbo is keen to bring in additional fire power after losing Nicholas Clark, Dean Shiels and Billy King at the end of last season but will have to forget about Bradshaw after Walsall slapped a £900,000 fee on his head.

Walsall boss John Whitney said: “There is going to be interest but Tom has got a market value. He is a striker that scores one in two.

You cannot just let him go. Some of the offers are just people fishing. If they are serious they need to come up with a serious offer, because Tom is a Walsall player.

I see him in my squad and I’d love him to stay. I plan to use him in the friendly against Norwich next week.”

So far Warbo hasn’t spent a penny on transfer fees with all of his summer recruits arriving on free transfers or ‘undisclosed fees’ which normally means that the player was given a pay off by his previous club to move on.

Asked last season about his interest in Bradshaw Warbo, who used to work as a city trader, said: “We know the player, and he is very talented.

There are a number of them there in League One. We know him very well but Frank was just watching the game.”
