Brendan Rodgers is in the dark about Gary Mackay-Steven going on loan to Ross County.
Word emerged yesterday about a loan deal for the former Dundee United winger with some websites taking it as a done deal.
GMS has still to start a match after a summer ankle injury with Rodgers denying any imminent move to the Dingwall side.
Asked today about a deal he admitted: “Not that I’m aware of, he’s still injured, there’s nothing in that.”
Rodgers was more forthcoming about Charlie Mulgrew.
Last season’s vice-captain was phoned by the new Celtic boss towards the end of his contract and is still without a club.
With Celtic beset by injuries to central defenders it seemed likely that a deal would be struck but there has been no sign of a new deal.
The arrival of Kolo Toure and emergence of Eoghan O’Connell look to have closed the doors on a new deal for Mulgrew.
“I don’t know Charlie that well but what I do know is he was a good servant to the club,” Rodgers explained.
“His contract was up, he was looking to negotiate with the club and unfortunately those negotiations stalled.
“He’s without a club and he asked if he could come in and train for a few weeks until something happened further down the line
“By all accounts, he’s a good guy, and from speaking to him a few times, he’s a good guy who wants to work and train well
“He’s been a good servant to Celtic here and I have no problem in helping out good people like him.”
