Celtic fans took to twitter to salute Kolo Toure after watching their side squeeze past Hapoel Beer Sheva into the group phase of the Champions League.
A 5-2 lead from the first leg suddenly looked very vulnerable when Ovidiu Hoban put Hapoel 2-0 up after 48 minutes following some comic cut defending between Craig Gordon and Saidy Janko.
Toure had already shown his worth during some difficult moments during the first half but came into his own as the clock slowly ticked down through the second half.
A third Hapoel goal seemed inevitable but inspired by the former Liverpool defender Celtic dredged out a result and a place in Thursday’s group stage draw.
It was an off night for most of the Celtic squad with supporters quick to recognise the performance and qualities shown by Toure.
@videocelts @KoloKolotoure28 really stood out as a solid and calm presence, who got the job done. He and Erik the best pairing for CBs.
