Kolo Toure and Tom Rogic made it into Chris Sutton’s team of the week alongside two former Celts- Joe Chalmers and Tony Watt.

Celtic’s 4-1 win over Aberdeen was more about the team than the performance as Brendan Rodgers side moved into top spot in the Premier League.

Rogic struck an incredible shot off the bar with the game goalless then completed the scoring in the 90th minute when he drilled home a low free kick.

At the other end of the park Toure showed the solid defensive skills that the Celtic defence badly needed and also his leadership qualities.

With his pedigree in the game he earned the instant respect of his new team-mates and quickly made an impact on the park.

In Toure’s first two matches he was held the hoops defence together after conceding equalisers to Astana and Hearts with Celtic going on to win both games.

Chalmers managed just 19 appearances last season for Motherwell but finished the season in Mark McGhee’s side despite being signed in the close season by Ian Baraclough.

This season he has been a regular starter as he begins to realise the potential he showed coming through the ranks at Celtic.

Watt has had a colourful career with his goal for Hearts away to Partick Thistle the eighth club he has scored for.

After spells at Celtic and Airdrie United he has found the net for Lierse, Standard Liege, Charlton, Cardiff City and Blackburn with Robbie Neilson hoping that his loan signing can hit 20 plus goals for the season.
