Madcap Joseph Anthony Barton has revealed that he’d love to play in a Glasgow derby.

The ageing midfielder is currently on a three match Sevco suspension after a training ground bust up with some reports claiming that he called Mark Warburton a ‘clueless c**t’.

Barton got a close up view of Scott Brown on September 10 when the hoops skipper drove the 5-in-a-row champions to an easy 5-1 win over Sevco.

Having sampled the build up and atmosphere of derby day the 34-year-old would dearly love to play against Brendan Rodgers side.

Speaking at an event to promote his latest autobiography Barton revealed: “The Old Firm is more deeply rooted than just football, but my experience of it wasn’t every good.

It’s not going to be if you get beat 5-1. It was difficult to take it all in. I was just worried about getting beat.

If we had won 5-1 it would have been the best thing I’d ever experienced. Hopefully, I will get the opportunity to play in a few more and experience a few more different outcomes.”

Barton hasn’t been on a pitch since the September 10 clash with speculation that he is unlikely to play for Sevco again.

With a weekly wage in the region of £30,000 the former Burnley ace is a major drain on Sevco’s fragile finances.

As well as his club suspension Barton faces the possibility of an SFA suspension if he is found guilty of betting on the Barcelona v Celtic match.

Under the rules footballers are forbidden from any form of betting on the game with Ian Black and Steve Simonsen suffering three match and one match bans respectively for betting on games.
