He may not be as hooped up as Jordan Larsson but Sydney van Hooijdonk looks like a name worth keeping an eye on.

Like his famous dad Pierre, Sydney is wearing the colours of NAC Breda and showing that he can deliver a mean free kick.

Last week in a friendly against PSV Eindhoven Sydney scored with the type of free kick that his dad was famous for.

Despite losing 3-1 Sydney was happy to post a video clip of the goal on his twitter account.

In January 1995 Celtic splashed out £1.5m to sign Pierre from NAC Breda with the gangly striker becoming a key signing of the Tommy Burns era.

Alongside Jorge Cadete and Paolo di Canio he became known as one of the Three Amigos which related to his off the pitch contract negotiations as much as his skills with a ball.

In May 1995 van Hooijdonk scored the only goal of the game as Celtic ended a six year trophy drought by lifting the Scottish Cup against Airdrie.

The following season at the partially rebuilt Celtic Park van Hooijdonk was in his element as the good times returned to the club even though they were pipped for the title by Rangers (IL).

Behind the scenes things started to unravel as the pressure was increased to stop Rangers (IL) reaching 9-in-a-row.

With a number of newer signings earning more money van Hooijdonk was angling for a pay rise but found Fergus McCann less than charitable in his negotiations.

In March 1997 the Dutch striker was sold to Nottingham Forest in a £4.5m with Burns departing Celtic shortly afterwards.

Whether Sydney makes it through the ranks at Breda to star in the first team remains to be seen but if he continues to score from free-kicks then the comparisons with his dad are bound to increase.
