Among the strangest of signings that arrived at Celtic in January 2010 was Diomansy Kanmara from Fulham.

With the attention all on Robbie Keane it was a losing debut for the 30-year-old from Senegal that night at Kilmarnock.

It seemed that all of Celtic’s league ambitions had been placed in that one match with the upshot being that half a new team had been recruited with little to play for in the SPL.

Kamara quickly made it known that he had no intention of staying beyond the end of his loan deal with no tears shed among the support at that news.

The on loan Fulham man managed to miss out on Mowbray’s last stand as Celtic crashed 4-0 away to St Mirren and was also missing when Ross County ended hopes of a Scottish Cup consolation prize.

In total he made 10 Celtic appearances, scoring three goals before quietly returning to Fulham.

The following season Kamara switched to Leicester on loan from Fulham in March before a more exotic deal took him to Eskisehirspor of Turkey.

At 36-years-old he is now literally enjoying an Indian summer with North East United where he is in his second season in the Indian Super League.
