Attending the AGM seems to have dropped out the diary but Dermot Desmond wasn’t going to miss Celtic’s Betfred Cup success at Hampden on Sunday.
The 3-0 win was warmly greeted by supporters across the world as further proof that the club has a man of substance in the manager’s job. Something tangible was how Brendan Rodgers described it.

Whatever happened at that match, 13 of the players used by Ronny Deila, plus Moussa Dembele were on the pitch at Hampden on Sunday with Desmond staying beyond the final whistle to enjoy the back slapping and high fives.
In six months one appointment has transformed the landscape at Celtic, the next 12 months could truly transform the club if Brendan Rodgers builds on the momentum that he has generated.
