Moussa Dembele is a skinny 2/1 favourite to finish as leading scorer in this season’s SPFL.

The on form hoops striker has got seven goals to his name so far in the SPFL, one behind team mate Scott Sinclair who is priced at 4/1 to come out on top at the end of the season.

Bookies are notoriously tight on this type of market with Leigh Griffiths available at just 6/1 despite his status as understudy to Dembele.

Last season Griffiths topped the charts with 31 SPFL goals out of a total for the season of 50. Taking the award again this season looks like a tall order for the former Hibs striker who has scored 75 goals in total for Celtic as he edges closer to the magic 100…. which eluded Anthony Stokes and almost certainly Kris Commons.

Outside of Celtic Liam Boyce (6) of Ross County and Louis Moult (5) of Motherwell are both rated at 14/1 to finish on top while the more dreamy eyed of Sevco fans can weigh in on Joe Garner at 16/1!

Dembele’s overall total for the season for Celtic stands at 16 including five priceless strikes in Europe with three of them coming in the group phase of the Champions League.

Last season the Frenchman scored 17 in all competitions for Fulham with eight coming by this stage in the season.

Team mate Sinclair has been much more selective with his goal scoring with just one strike coming in the Betfred Cup and nothing yet in Europe.

Last season he scored in only one Premier League match for Aston Villa, a double against Sunderland although he did score four times in three Capital Cup appearances.
