The official website of the SPFL has named Clint Hill in it’s team of the season so far!

In a bizarre bid to make the tribute act relevant the anonymous author of the article restricts his selections to a maximum of one player per club but then names Scott Brown in his side.

Veteran Hill is included in an ‘iron curtain’ defence that also involves Paul Hanlon and Jean Yves M’voto of Raith Rovers.

Having started in just 11 of Sevco’s 19 SPFL matches the 38-year-old really must have put in some incredible displays to be among the top three defenders in Scotland, if he had a granny from Govan he might find himself included in Gordon Strachan’s next international squad.

According to the SPFL report ‘the addition of Hill has given a real steadying influence and leadership to the Ibrox back-line, and they’re noticeably fragile when he’s absent.’

Scott Brown is mentioned as ‘Celtic’s renaissance man’ while mention is made of Dembele’s blistering scoring start to the season.

SPFL Team of the season 3-4-3: Lewis (Aberdeen); Panlon (Hibs), Hill (Sevco), M’voto (Raith Rovers); Pittman (Livingston), Brown (Celtic), Andreu (Dundee United), Swanson (St Johnstone); Sutherland (Elgin), Ryan (Airdrie United), Dembele (Celtic).
