Deluded John Brown believes that Rangers are the biggest club in the country!
The former Rangers defender famously stood on the doorstep of Ibrox in the summer of 2012 warning fans of the dangers of Charles Green’s tribute act.
“Wherz ra deeds,” Brown bellowed at the fans knowing that Craig Whyte had a claim over the stadium and state-of-the-art Murray Park training facility.
Brown’s hostility to the tribute act was soon overcome as like Ally McCoist and Walter Smith his opposition was bought off with the promise of a blazer and a role as a club ambassador.
Who owns the deeds is still unclear but after three consecutive wins in the top flight the delusions of adequacy around Ibrox are ringing louder than ever.
“I think the Hearts game at Tynecastle sums it up,” Brown told The Herald. “At the end of that game, the management, the directors, the fans, it was three points that they won but you would have thought they had won the league.
“That, if anything, is the one thing that Mark will have taken out of it. Everyone loves beating Rangers and the Rangers players and manager can see that now and know what they need to bring to the table.
“The fans are loving it right now. The crowds at Ibrox have been great, the travelling support is second to none.
“The Rangers fans are the best in the country and if the team show that spirit then they will get the backing of the support.
“Every team still wants to beat Rangers, they still look at Rangers as the top team, the most successful club in the country and that won’t change.”
In 2016 the only table that ‘Rangers’ top is the debt mountain accumulated by Dave King.
With the third biggest stadium in Glasgow, second highest wage bill in Scotland, no European co-efficient and less trophies than St Johnstone, Inverness Caley Thistle and Ross County it seems that Brown has forgotten his warnings of 2012 and how the supporters inaction allowed an institution to die.
