Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers isn’t likely to spend too much time today celebrating his 44th birthday.

Hoops fans across the world will no doubt raise a cheer for the Irishman who has transformed the club in every area.

Twelve months ago Celtic were preparing for another Hampden misery losing to Ross County in the semi-final of the League Cup- this morning a treble is reality with the possibility of completing the domestic season without defeat.

There are many subjects that can be touched on for the biggest turnaround since Rodgers took charge- as Scott Brown celebrated his 400th appearance no one could have predicted that Dedryck Boyata would be on the pitch let alone the match winner.

Rather than rely solely on the cheque book Rodgers enjoys good old fashioned management techniques such as trying to improve the players he already has.

Boyata looked a write off from half way through last season, after half a season on the sidelines he is tentatively looking like a player who was once signed by Manchester City and capable of being named in the Belgian international squad.

As he celebrates his birthday Celtic fans will be looking forward to many more landmarks with the Irishman who has revived their interest and love of the simple pleasure of going to the match.
