Barrie McKay is a £6m target for Red Bull Leipzig!
According to a report in the Daily Record the 22-year-old made a big impression on the German side as they breezed to a 4-0 win over Sevco in a friendly last week.
Talk of a takeover bid for the company seems to have died a death but now the German club could be prepared to come in with a bid that would keep the Ibrox club paying their bills for two months.
Mackay scored the first goal in Sevco’s history away to Brechin five years ago and now, after 15 appearances in the top flight of Scottish football, he seems poised for a life changing transfer.
The Record reports: “Our Leipzig source said: “McKay was easily the most impressive of all the Rangers players and Rangnick (Ralf. Leipzig’s Sporting Director) was certainly impressed.
“Since the weekend there have been some serious discussions about making an offer for the player.”
It’s also claimed that a number of English Premier League clubs are watching the £6m man whose contract runs until June 2018 with talks still to begin about a new deal. No other bids have been reported for any of Mark Warburton’s squad
