Moussa’s warning

Moussa Dembele believes that Celtic will come back from the winter break stronger than ever.

Despite a punishing December schedule that involved nine matches the hoops were still too strong for Sevco as they opened up a 19 point lead at the top of the table with a convincing win over their nearest ‘rivals’.

Dembele put in an awesome performance- scoring the first half equaliser before dominating the second half complete with a five minute possession master-class in which he held the ball up at corners prompting two yellow cards.

With a week of training in Dubai to look forward to before a Scottish Cup tie at Albion Rovers and the resumption of the SPFL Dembele has an ominous warning for Celtic’s opponents.

I think we will come back even stronger after the break,” the striker told the Evening Times.

We have so much confidence as a team but we are not trying to look at what we could achieve just now. We want to make sure that we are winning games and scoring goals.

It is not about what I do or what any other player does. It is all about the team. We want to win everything that we can and be successful.

If we can do that then it will be a good season but I am happy now. It feels good to be at the top of the league and to be scoring goals. It is all I want.”

Dembele has no interest in leaving Celtic during the winter break, with five of his 19 goals coming against Sevco he’ll be looking to keep that scoring run going when the action resumes.
