Brendan Rodgers could be looking to bring in a goalkeeper during the January transfer window.

Reports from Itally suggest that there is interest in Logan Bailly while Rodgers has admitted that Dorus de Vries may be looking to move on.

De Vries was first choice keeper at Nottingham Forest before joining Celtic in August. After a brief spell in the side he was dropped for Craig Gordon who has rediscovered his best form.

Any in coming keeper is almost certainly looking at life on the bench as a back up to Gordon but that comes with the territory of a goalkeepers life.

Speaking to The Herald Rodgers said: “Goalkeepers understand and respect things and Dorus is a good guy.

He’s an honest fella and understands where he’s at and that he’s a real part of the squad here even though he hasn’t played as much.

People wonder why I brought in Dorus, but he’s an influence on that as well Craig’s seen how he’s working and he’s able to sit with him and talk about how I worked at Swansea. That’s helped him along with his own intelligence of how to get better.”

Gordon’s Celtic contract is up at the end of this season but the club does have an option to extend that by 12 months.

It’s always preferred to get agreement on a contract etension but if that can’t be found the club can enforce the additional season.

Behind the three experienced keepers Celtic have Leo Fasan, Ross Doohan, Conor Hazard, Aidan McAdams and Colin McCabe.
