Scott Sinclair couldn’t believe it when his shot opened the scoring in Celtic’s 3-0 Scottish Cup win over Albion Rovers.

The former Aston Villa man scored the final goal of 2016 at Ibrox and kicked off the new year by first footing Albion Rovers.

As Kieran Tierney raced down the left flank Sinclair held his run back to create space for a pass.

From just inside the penalty box he sent a high effort towards the back post with the ball dipping dramatically to find the net.

After that breakthrough Celtic had to wait until the 77th minute to double their lead with Moussa Dembele, who also scored at Ibrox, notching his 20th goal of the campaign.

In the final minute Stuart Armstrong completed the scoring with his ninth goal of the season with Celtic rewarded with a home tie against Inverness Caley Thistle in the fifth round draw.

On Wednesday Celtic return to the SPFL with St Johnstone the guests as Brendan Rodgers side attempt to go 22 points ahead of Sevco.
