Under fire Andrew Dallas will referee Wednesday’s match between Inverness Caley Thistle and Celtic.

The Lanarkshire based referee has had a shocking season with a string of mistakes infuriating supporters across the country.

Dallas recently refereed the Celtic v St Johnstone match on January when Dedryck Boyata scored the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute.

After that Dallas hit a new low when he booked Malaury Martin of Hearts when Motherwell’s Louis Moult tripped over the boot of team-mate Lionel Ainsworth.

That incident, in a match shown live by Sky Sports, brought derision to the referee from thousands of twitter users.

Hearts published a statement following the match explaining that there was no mechanism to appeal the decision, Dallas later phoned Ian Cathro to apologise about the decision.

During a recent Radio Scotland programme former referee Charlie Richmond answered yes to a listeners question asking of Dallas had been fast tracked, the programme quickly moved on.

‘Assisting’ Dallas at the match will be Graham Chambers, in March 2015 he raced onto the pitch at a Dundee United v Celtic Scottish Cup tie, pulled Calum Butcher aside then instructed Craig Thompson to send off Virgil van Dijk and Paul Paton. Both red cards were overturned on appeal.
