John Kennedy believes that attention to detail- and carrying out his convictions sets Brendan Rodgers apart from other managers and coaches.

The hoops coach has been on all the courses collecting the qualifications as his career develops.

Kennedy has watched Neil Lennon and Ronny Deila at close quarters but nothing prepared him for the arrival of the former Liverpool boss.

It’s fairly easy to collect information and analysis but few bosses implement it the way that Rodgers does.

Every opponent is studied in detail with players given precise breakdowns of what to expect from their opposite numbers.

Most importantly Rodgers reacts to situations during matches and isn’t afraid to alter his approach whether it’s after 10 minutes or an hour into the game.

It’s the detail he puts into everything, his preparation for training and games,” Kennedy explained to The SunYou see the level of detail and standard he expects. Everything he does is top notch.

The period between Ronny going and Brendan coming in was the one time when I genuinely thought I could be away from Celtic.

I wondered if it would be a manager I didn’t get along with or wasn’t my cup of tea but as soon as I spoke to Brendan, I wanted to stay. He’s a top-class manager.

Brendan gave me an opportunity I couldn’t turn down and, having worked with him throughout this season, I can truly appreciate he’s different class.

He’s excellent with people at every level of the club and has real conviction in his decision making. That’s been the big improvement this season — people don’t cut any corners or take the easy option.”

At 33 years of age Kennedy has admitted that he wants to go out on his own as a manager at some stage which will involve leaving Celtic.
