They missed each other by a decade but Stuart Armstrong has admitted that he’d loved to have had Henrik Larsson as a team-mate.

Larsson scored his last Celtic goals in the 2004 Scottish Cup Final win over Dunfermline with Armstrong joining the hoops in February 2015 from Dundee United.

The Swedish striker would have been proud of some of Armstrong’s goals this season but with 242 to his name there’s no danger of the midfielder matching Larsson’s incredible tally.

Armstrong was answering questions posed by fans on twitter and didn’t duck away from covering his miss from within the six yard box against Hamilton Accies on Saturday.

Fortunately after being injured during the warm up for the 4-0 win over Hearts last month the midfielder is back to full fitness and ready to play his part in Celtic’s treble bid.

Five more wins in the SPFL will guarantee a third title medal for the midfielder- one short of Larsson’s total from seven magnificent seasons at Celtic.
