Rob Kiernan was forced to call for security INSIDE Ibrox on Saturday as he was singled out by angry fans for abuse.

The defender, a former Ireland u-21 skipper, was left out of the match-day squad for the match against Ross County after having a nightmare in the 4-1 defeat from Hearts in midweek.

According to a report in The Sun ‘Sources revealed he was targeted as he made his way to the players lounge at half-time.

‘It’s believed several stewards had to intervene to prevent the flashpoint escalating.’

Ross County were leading 1-0 at half time with the home fans booing their team off the park.

Kiernan, known affectionately as oil tanker, has been a regular in central defence all season alongside Clint Hill but was dropped for former Arsenal ace Philippe Senderos on Saturday.

The 26-year-old joined Sevco in the summer of 2015 in Mark Warburton’s first batch of signings and collected a Petrofac Cup winners medal from last season’s Hampden victory over Peterhead.
