Celtic turned on the style to beat St Johnstone 5-2 to go 27 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

After taking the lead the hoops found themselves 2-1 down at half time but stormed back to score four times after the break to maintain their unbeaten start to the domestic season.

The fifth goal was a thing of beauty with some show-boating from Mikael Lustig and Callum McGregor before Dembele slammed the ball into the net to complete his hatrick.

With a 27 point lead second placed Aberdeen are now closer to bottom of the table Inverness Caley Thistle than the champions elect although the Dons could cut the gap to 24 if they beat Motherwell on Wednesday night.

Celtic need six more wins to put the title beyond Aberdeen but look on course to end Sevco’s hopes when the two sides meet on March 12.

After that match there will be 30 points left to play for, if Celtic win on March 12 they will be 30 points clear of Sevco with a vastly inferior goal difference, assuming both sides have matching results until that fixture.

If Sevco drop any points in their next three matches against Inverness Caley Thistle, Dundee and St Johnstone the #goingfor55 campaign can be binned on March 12 with a home win.
