A Moussa Dembele is listed as a substitute as Brendan Rodgers makes three changes from the side that beat Hearts on Wednesday for the trip to St Johnstone.

Erik Sviatchenko, Gary Mackay-Steven and Liam Henderson are called into the starting XI with Jozo Simunovic, James Forrest and Callum McGregord dropping to the bench where they are joined by Dembele and Nadir Ciftci.

A win for the hoops would put them 27 points clear of Aberdeen who could return the lead down to 24 points if they beat Motherwell at home on Wednesday.

Earlier this season Celtic won 4-2 away to St Johnstone but 11 days ago it was a solitary goal from Dedryck Boyata that separated the two teams.

Last Sunday Brendan Rodgers side created a new club record when they beat Hearts to take their unbeaten start to the season to 27 matches with no sign of letting up.

In the SPFL Celtic have won 22 out of 23 matches with the only speed bump coming in the 2-2 draw at Inverness in September.

After today’s match Celtic’s next SPFL fixture is at home to Motherwell on February 18.
