Deluded talkSPORT host Jason Cundy was way out of his depth when he decided to belittle Celtic’s achievements following the hoops 4-0 win over Inverness Caley Thistle.

The former Chelsea and Spurs defender was co-presenting The Sports Bar with Andy Goldstein when they decided to have a laugh at how Celtic were racing to the SPFL title.

All the old nonsense was brought up and it certainly created a response with a couple of Celtic fans quickly on air who weren’t the best at expressing themselves.

The third Celtic caller certainly new how to form an argument and soon had Cundy running out of excuses, the names Fraser Forster, Victor Wanyama and Virgil van Dijk had Cundy reaching for straws. Which team in the utterly wonderful EPL wouldn’t want Moussa Dembele?.

Celtic’s title success this season won’t have the worldwide appeal of Leicester winning the English crown last season but for every Celtic fan it will be very special.

Six in a row doesn’t happen often, for the younger fan the dominance is fantastic, for those who lived through the Murray years in the nineties the current era is astonishing.

Clearly not having seen any of the goals at Inverness Cundy described the 4-0 win as boring claiming that the current Celtic side were no better than Stoke and would be fighting relegation if they moved to England.

I suppose he forget which club burst the Manchester City bubble this season.

Once the third caller started to take Cundy apart point by point he started to clutch at straws.

Living in Glasgow would be a drawback for Celtic attracting star players who would prefer the bright lights of London.

For every player that wants the second hand air and recycled water of the big smoke there’s another who loves the golf courses, fresh air, fresh water and quality of life available within an hours drive of Glasgow. A phone call to Terry Butcher might put Cundy right.

Having had every argument taken apart Cundy then decided to use the number of twitter followers Celtic had to slam the club!

By that measure Joey Barton is the best player in England and among the top ten in the world. Poor Joey never quite recovered from discovering just how ordinary he is when he faced upto Celtic on September 10.

I think the Celtic caller was called Frank. After Cundy’s twitter comment he didn’t have to argue any more. Cundy had destroyed his own argument, he knew it and the listeners knew it.

As he turns up at Stamford Bridge the former Chelsea defender can only dream about what it’s like to play in front of 50,000 plus fans on a weekly basis for a club that is still in touch with the fans that make it special, more special than the new age Chelsea luvvies will ever know.
